I had the pleasure of creating Sussex modern wedding flowers for the beautiful school high school sweethearts Liz & Brogan, who married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, then partied with their nearest and dearest at the iconic The Grand Hotel.
THE BRIEF: Glam, Pastel, Boho with unexpected colour pops aesthetic
WHAT WE DID: Fluffy, luxe Roses teamed with an abundance of texture set the canvas for Liz’s all-important wedding bouquet. Liz had a clear vision for her bouquet which she relayed in her wedding flower consultation – dried and fresh florals combined with an unexpected pop of blue. A quick Google of ‘pink, white and blue’ showed examples of harsh colour combinations, so it was important to blend these shades to create glam, pastel and modern wedding flowers.
To create this look, Honey-hued Pampas grass, bunny tails and bleached white Ruscus to form the Boho, natural element, whilst luxe blush Quicksand Roses, creamy Vendela Roses and Ivory Roses were chosen thanks to their soft shades and ruffly petals.
The challenge came when selecting the perfect shade of blue – it had to be subtle, yet eye-catching, with an emphasis on creating a modern look with a shade that would be dominant in the overall colour palette. After much searching, a vibrant yet soft shade of pale blue Delphinium was selected to draw the eye.
