About Findon House and the Couples It Attracts

Nestled in the heart of the West Sussex South Downs, Findon House is a wedding venue that offers couples a balance of elegance, history, and timeless charm. The venue attracts couples who seek to combine the romantic allure of a classic English estate with the flexibility to bring their own modern, unique twist. Findon House is ideal for couples who appreciate the seamless blend of indoor and outdoor spaces, providing endless opportunities for creativity in design. Couples choosing Findon House for their wedding day are typically style-conscious, looking for a venue that can host a show-stopping event while maintaining intimacy and warmth. They want their wedding to reflect their personalities, make a statement, and leave a lasting impression on their guests.

Why we do styled shoots:

Wedding suppliers love to hold styled shoots because it allows us to bring new ideas and creative visions to life, offering couples a glimpse into the realm of floral possibilities for their own dream day. These shoots provide a playground for trying innovative designs and bold concepts that inspire couples to think outside the box. Styled shoots also give us the opportunity to get to know wedding venues on a more intimate level, allowing us to understand their unique features and flow, so we can deliver the best possible service to couples choosing that venue for their special day.

The Vision: A Floral Fantasy at Findon House

For this photoshoot, the vision was clear: to transform the iconic Findon House into a vast floral fantasy, showcasing the possibilities available to couples getting married at this stunning venue. With its grand architecture and soft, neutral interiors, Findon House is the perfect canvas for a dramatic yet romantic wedding design.

The goal was to create a floral experience that not only complements the unique features of Findon House but also enhances them, bringing a sense of modernity, softness, and drama. From the sweeping views of the South Downs to the opulent interiors, we wanted couples to feel inspired by what could be achieved with florals in this space—something that felt effortless yet unforgettable.

The spaces within the venue—The Hall, The Ballroom, and the lush outdoor areas—provided a wealth of opportunity for creativity. Each space has its own personality, allowing us to design floral installations that were both cohesive and exciting. The result? A dreamy, energising atmosphere that gives couples a glimpse into the potential for their own wedding day at Findon House.

The Colour Palette: Drama Meets Romance

When designing for a venue like Findon House, we wanted the floral story to both contrast and complement the existing interiors. To achieve this, we selected a colour palette that oozed drama and romance, while maintaining elegance. Deep mauvey pinks, rich plums, and vibrant coral tones contrasted beautifully with crisp ivory, giving the flowers a bold, impactful presence in the space.

We designed in an en-masse style, grouping colours and floral varieties for maximum visual impact. This method allowed the florals to make a statement without overwhelming the venue’s features. The contrast between the rich hues and the soft, neutral tones of The Hall and The Ballroom was striking, creating an unforgettable aesthetic that felt modern yet timeless.

This style of design is perfect for couples who want something a little different, those who are eager to push boundaries while remaining sophisticated. These are couples who want their wedding florals to reflect their personalities—bold, stylish, and unapologetically romantic.

The Ceremony Setting at Findon House

The ceremony took place in The Hall, a space already brimming with grandeur thanks to its intricate statues and the stunning wooden door leading to The Ballroom. Our goal was to enhance this already captivating space, bringing in soft, organic elements to balance the architectural details.

We incorporated stone textures and a variation of height and depth into the floral arrangements, using large vases to house structural yet abundant florals. Each arrangement told its own story while working cohesively to create a show-stopping moment for the couple as they exchanged vows. The soft draping of fabric weaved between the plinths added a romantic, modern touch, offsetting the bold colour-blocking of the florals for a balanced, elegant look.

This design was created for couples who value intentional design and want to create an emotional connection with their guests through the beauty of their ceremony space and the setting.

The Ballroom: Drama and Elegance Combined

For the wedding breakfast in The Ballroom, we knew we wanted to emphasise both the drama and elegance of the room. To achieve this, we opted for trestle tables lined with a variety of floral formats, including mini meadows, ikebana-inspired designs, and bud vases. Each element worked together to create a visually stunning tablescape, balanced by tonal tapered candles that brought warmth and romance to the space.

The highlight of The Ballroom was undoubtedly the floral cloud that hung above the tables. Created with light and airy gypsophila in shades of deep pink and plum, with vibrant pops of coral woven throughout, the cloud added layers of drama and elegance. The draping artistry intertwined through the floral cloud gave the entire room an ethereal, romantic feel while creating a focal point that guests couldn’t stop admiring.

When designing for a space like The Ballroom, we always take into account the details, space, and vibe that our couples want to create. It’s not just about the flowers themselves but about how they interact with the room, the people, and the overall experience. We focus on creating an engaging, stylish floral design that’s not only visually stunning but also adds to the atmosphere, making guests feel fully immersed in the celebration.
