White and green wedding flowers are an eternally popular choice, with classic colour palettes continuing to hold their own as new colours of the year, bold trending tones and whimsical shades perpetually promise to offer ‘something different’.
But at Bloominati I know two things can be true at once – a well-loved combo like white and green can give quintessential wedding vibes without feeling safe, predictable, or ‘done before’.
When Bella and Oli told me their brief for their LIMEKILN wedding, I knew we were agreed on that. “We want our wedding to feel like a relaxed friends and family get-together that happens to look very chic and classy. We want people to feel at home, but also impressed by the space.”
I took their green and white colour scheme and ran with it in my signature anti-ordinary way, keeping everything that’s so charming about the pairing and making it feel fresh, bold and contemporary. The result was the welcoming, familiar atmosphere they were looking for, combined with innovative floral design that made green and white feel modern, not mundane.
If you’ve fallen for a classic colour combo and you’re wondering how to elevate it into something one of a kind, this is my guide on making classic green and white wedding flowers feel stylish, not safe.
In the blog:
Often, style loves simplicity and refinement requires restraint. It’s rare to see the extravagance of the fashion runways translated into real people’s outfits, and great interior design is about knowing where to add flair and where to let the space breathe. It’s the same with wedding flowers. Your wedding is not a Pinterest board, in that as much as we will make it absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, it’s real – it needs to feel as good as it looks.
Green and white wedding flowers for a LIMEKILN wedding work because the colour combination is sympathetic, and about as timeless as anything can truly be. It doesn’t readily clash with almost any style of wedding venue, it doesn’t compete or shout loudly, and it feels inherently romantic. White and green blooms are wonderful for creating depth, dimension and playing with form and negative space, and there are lots of different floral varieties to choose from which makes it a versatile colour palette too.
All of these things are benefits when it comes to designing fashion forward florals in a colour scheme that can be soft and powerful.
I knew that working with Bella and Oli to create an unapologetically cool, contemporary take on classic green and white was going to be fun and creatively fulfilling, because it quickly became apparent they have great taste. A California-based couple with creative backgrounds, they love self-expression through fashion, interiors, and overpriced beverages (relatable!). Their passion for romanticising the little things in life really shone through in their wedding, and every time I look at their photos I see it written in the floral design.
As a recommended supplier at LIMEKILN, their Sussex wedding venue, I have the advantage of knowing the venue really well . These things combined meant I was able to design a stylish statement ceremony backdrop on the North Lawns, unlike anything their guests had seen before.
For their outdoor ceremony I created large-scale floral sculptures, an impactful focal point for them to say their vows against. Trend-driven chrome mirror plinths reflected the grass and deepened the green effect, without needing to add lots of foliage. This was intentionally crafted to be able to transition into elevated table arrangements for the wedding breakfast, ensuring a strong visual thread throughout the day.
As well as Bella’s modern floral bouquet with statement leaves, I provided chic and elegant single stem hydrangea flowers for each of her bridesmaids. This was intentionally done so as not to detract from the impact of their gorgeous mismatched sherbet yellow dresses, showing Bella’s careful planning of her wedding day vision.
LIMEKLIN’s Poplar Hall is filled with natural light and almost entirely neutral, apart from the playful hand painted frieze by a local artist. Because it’s so easy to add colour here and the space carries almost any combination so well, most couples choose to do so.
Bella and Oli opted for white and green, resulting in a ceremony design that looked as though it truly belonged and had almost grown naturally from the earth, and a dinner space that felt bright, airy and spacious.
When you become a Bloominato couple, every floral design is tailored to your venue’s unique features, including architecture, colour story and quirks. This, intertwined with your unique vision for your day and with guest experience top of mind, means your flowers will never feel out of place or unintentional. It’s about causing a commotion in the best way possible.

The Bloominati design style is anti-ordinary, anti-predictable, and largely anti-foliage. I believe that foliage takes away from the colour palette, and is generally used for filling space and creating garden-style arrangements which is where it’s at its best.
Rather than creating a mass of green for the flowers to nestle against, I focus on curating interesting sculptural forms, turning up the colour, and leaning into structure and movement. Every stem is purposefully arranged and negative space is used very deliberately, allowing each flower to be seen and appreciated rather than blending in.
Rather than traditional, rustic or trend-led florals, I create to celebrate your colours, your aesthetic and every individual flower, doing justice to the beautiful, living nature of them.
My favourite stems for green and white colour palettes are those with personality, varieties with texture and statement blooms. My top 3 favourites are:
Amaranthus: long, drippy, visually striking and beautifully textured.
This flower effortlessly creates movement and softness, with editorial edge. It works best in sculptural bouquets and designs on plinths where they can cascade, just like in Bella and Oli’s ceremony design.
Available late spring to November.
Hydrangea: volume, an intense hit of colour, and wonderful en-masse.
These are a favourite for editorial-inspired design, and are perfect for creating large scale designs or bringing structure to your dinner tables. They are so lovely to play with, as they can also bring softness to bouquets as they did for Bella. They’re utterly luxurious and a real Bloominati favourite.
Available early summer until November

Textural greens: in place of foliage
Rosehips are chosen for their clean, linear stems and smooth, berry-like forms, adding structure, height and visual rhythm to a floral design. They’re best used sparingly and enhanced by negative space so their texture can be fully appreciated.
Straddles the summer and autumn season.
Selecting specific, premium flower varieties that provoke real reactions from you and your guests is key, and I tend to stay away from the standard rose types seen in a lot of weddings. Statement leaves are great for sculptural feel, and grouping certain flower types en masse ensures the design doesn’t look dotty.
Abi & Jack went fresh and bold at LIMEKILN and we pulled off an all-white wedding for them. Find out why it shouldn’t have worked, but did – in a big way.
Bella and Oli chose to work with a wedding planner and on the day coordinator, which is something more and more Bloominati couples are doing.
If you have a vision for your wedding, the most effortless way to bring it to life is to work with trusted professionals, step back from the planning overwhelm, and focus on enjoying the journey – while your creative team works their magic. If you’re the kind of couple who wants to have an active role in collaborating with your team, we’ll work beautifully together. Your team becomes your cheerleaders, providing experience-led guidance you can lean on and all of the hype and excitement about the little world we are building entirely for you.
I’m a big collaborator, and love to work with wedding planners in the run up to your wedding. We blend timelines, liaise to ensure set up and repurposing is smooth and seamless, and stay in the loop with your venue – the result is a beautiful team effort that means you don’t have to think about a thing on your wedding day, and can be fully present.
It’s not just your wedding planner I’ll work closely with, though. I also did so with Bella and Oli’s cake designer, blending florals into this area of the day so everything felt considered and cohesive. Creating floral moments around elements such as your cake is part of the Bloominati experience.
Bella and Oli’s wedding was defined by incredible team collaboration, chic fashion, a cool and detail-focused design, and exceptional guest experience.
Everything was thought about, from the addition of film photography to the wedding day illustrator as a unique way to entertain guests.
Their statement that “We would love to work with a designer who is deeply invested in their craft and can make our vision come to life for our wedding day!” really permeated throughout their entire celebration, and the carefully selected team made the wow factor palpable.

Lover of baked goods, scented candles, ASOS and the theatre. When I’m not planning gorgeous wedding flowers for my beautiful couples, I’m doting on my little rescue dog, attending a gig, eating pizza or I’m glued to my laptop working when I should probably be relaxing because I absolutely love what I do.
